Week 4

The readings which were presented for the week four workshop provided me with new information in relation to Blooms taxonomy and the way ICT is integrated and can be used to display each level of the theory.  Discovering the wide range of technologies available for both teaching and learning was very insightful for me.  Prior to connecting with the Blooms reading I did not have the knowledge to integrate such a wide range of technologies into pedagogical thinking and learning experiences.

Rachel and Aleisha introduced us to a bookmarking website 'Only2clicks', previously I had not used an online booking website, although now that I have an account I will be making great use if the online tool. Having all of your bookmarks stored online and accessible from any internet connected computer will broaden my technological capabilities within the classroom.  I will be using this tool for students to collaboratively learn, with a class accessible code; students will have the ability to log onto 'only2clicks' and access relevant webpages, rather than being provided with handouts or web addresses that would be typed incorrectly and have a range of other problems.

Through personal research and investigation this week I discovered a range of educational apps that would extend my teaching and would provide students with interactive, engaging learning experiences in most areas of the curriculum.  One app that I believe I would implement and use in an early years classroom would be 'Storykit'.  This app provides students with the opportunity to create digital storybooks which include voice recording (podcasting), still image capture, written language(typing) and the opportunity to draw images into their story books.  This app would invest creativity into the students literacy learning (4 c's), as well as communication, where the students have the opportunity to decide which form of communication would best suit the message they are aiming to get across to their audience.
